Film Studies
Learning Outcomes

Students minoring in Film Studies will:

Explore the unique medium of film as it has developed in the twentieth century.

Understand the intellectual and artistic connections between cinema literature, painting, photography and theater.

Learn to use the specialized vocabulary of Film Studies as it has developed in the academic context and the film industry.

Gain an understanding of other cultures besides their own through the films of other nations and cultural groups.

Become critical readers and discerning consumers of the visual medium.
